Bottero of Cuneo, through its subsidiary E2Pack srl, has taken over the activities of a branch of the Ems Group of Montecchio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia, a company active in the production of end-of-line and packaging systems for the food, drinks, glass and cans. With this acquisition, Bottero’s presence in Italy rises to four: in addition to the main headquarters in Cuneo, the company is also active in Montecchio Maggiore (Vicenza) and Rovereto (Trento), employing around 800 people around the world . The acquisition by Bottero ensures production continuity as well as employment for 60 Ems workers who will move to E2Pack. Not only that: Bottero, again through its subsidiary E2 Pack, also undertakes within one year from the transfer date to hire other Ems employees not included in the company branch where there is a stable increase in the volumes of its activities.
“The acquisition of the company branch by E2Pack – says Marco Tecchio, CEO of the Bottero Group – allows us to expand our range of offers in the hollow glass and food & beverage sectors in the logic of developing increasingly smart factory solutions also integrated with new AI and machine learning technologies. Our goal is to progressively enrich the E2Pack product range to meet the needs of global markets in the cold end and end-of-line systems sector, also in line with the objectives of Industry 5.0 and ESG issues. We thank the institutions, the Emilia Romagna Region and the social forces for the effective contribution made for the positive closure of the operation, but, above all, we want to warmly welcome the new E2Pack colleagues within the Group, wishing them full personal success and professional”.
The local institutions, trade unions and workers’ representatives, having acknowledged the agreement, expressed “satisfaction with the objective achieved, recognizing the role of the Bottero Group as a stable and solid reality in its sector, with a well-defined industrial vision and objectives concrete in terms of investments in Research & Development, technological evolution and growth”.
The transfer operation is already operational and the migration of the activities of the Ems Group branch to E2Pack has begun. The two main industrial settlements of Montecchio Emilia have also migrated within the same, constituting the new operational headquarters of E2Pack. With an annual turnover of over 300 million euros and almost 800 employees worldwide, Bottero has been a world leader in all sectors of the glass industry for over 65 years and is the only company globally active both in the flat glass sector and hollow glass through the supply of high-tech machinery to customers all over the planet. Bottero machinery is in fact present in over 120 countries. 90% of Bottero’s industrial production finds its place on foreign markets and the value of its exports reaches 95% of its entire turnover.
